Help & contact
Whether you’re posting your first job, sending a quote or sorting out an account problem, start here.
Who can join?
You must be 18 or over to create a Nimtask account, whether you want to hire help or find work. This is Nimtask’s minimum account age, even where local rules allow some work at a younger age.
Contact Nimtask
Use our Contact form or email support@nimtask.co.uk with your question. Include the email on your account and a job link or reference if you have one, so we can find the right record.
Please do not send passwords, one-time security codes or full card details. Support is not an emergency service.
Posting a job
Where is Nimtask available?
New jobs and worker registration are currently available in England, Scotland and Wales. Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man are not supported yet. This coverage also applies to remote jobs.
What if I don’t know what it should cost?
Choose Open to Quotes instead of a price estimate. Workers set their own fixed quotes. You see the worker’s amount, Nimtask’s fee and the full customer total before deciding. Posting and comparing quotes are free. Try the price calculator.
What if nobody quotes?
An unanswered job does not cost you anything. Availability varies by task and area, so we cannot promise a quote or a response time.
Check whether the listing explains what needs doing, the size or condition of the item, and any access requirements. Clear photos and flexible timing can help a worker decide whether they can take it on.
Use Edit job on an unanswered open listing to improve its description, timing, category, price guide or location. Previous details stay in your job history. Once any worker has quoted, the listing’s scope is preserved; use Cancel job and create a revised listing instead. If you no longer need the work, cancel the job, then choose Close job to move it to your archived history.
Can the work be done remotely?
Select remote work if no visit is needed, for example for software troubleshooting or online help. Nimtask serves England, Scotland and Wales, so we ask for a postcode in one of these areas to establish your broad location. A remote job can be found by workers across these areas; your exact postcode is not published in the job preview.
For remote support, only allow device or screen access you understand and can end yourself. Never share passwords, security codes or full payment-card details.
Agreeing the job details
Who supplies tools and materials?
There is no single rule for every job. Say what you already have in your description and ask the worker to state which tools and materials they will supply. Use Ask a question on their quote to clarify this before choosing.
Does the quote include everything?
No hidden fees. The fixed worker quote must include every unavoidable charge for the described work, including applicable VAT and any materials the worker says are included. Genuinely optional extras must be described separately. Nimtask’s service fee is shown alongside the worker quote and is already included in your customer total.
Use Ask a question on a pending quote to discuss the scope, materials, access and timing. Your questions and the worker’s replies are private to that quote. Asking a question does not accept the quote, charge you or decline other workers.
Once you are ready, accepting a quote selects that worker, declines other pending quotes and opens the job chat. Payment is a separate checkout step. Quote questions stay available as a record after a choice is made.
What if more work is needed?
Pause and agree what has changed before additional work starts. A worker cannot add an undisclosed mandatory charge to the agreed scope. Before acceptance, discuss the change in quote questions and ask the worker to edit their pending quote. For a change after acceptance or payment, use the job chat and contact support to agree the next step; the original payment does not automatically cover extra work. Keep marketplace payments on Nimtask.
Acceptance, checkout and worker payment
- Accept the quote. Ask any questions first. Acceptance selects your worker, declines other pending quotes and opens the job chat. Accepting a quote does not charge you or pay the worker.
- Pay in a separate checkout. Review the full total and notices, then pay securely through Stripe. Successful payment forms the customer–worker service contract. The worker must wait for confirmed payment and the agreed start timing.
- Confirm completion. When the work is finished, confirm completion to release the worker payment. The worker’s amount is not transferred to them at checkout.
If there is a problem, discuss it in the job chat first where practical. Use Report a problem / request refund on the paid job before payment release begins to pause the worker payment for review. If release has already started, contact support. Nimtask may arrange a release or a full or partial refund after reviewing the evidence; a refund is not automatic or guaranteed. See the payment and dispute terms.
If either person needs to cancel
Before payment: the customer can use Cancel job on an open job or an accepted quote awaiting payment. A worker who cannot proceed should tell the customer in the job chat and contact support if needed.
After payment: tell the other person clearly in the job chat. Customers can use Report a problem on the paid job for a no-show, disagreement or refund request. Workers should contact support if the issue cannot be resolved in the job chat. Keep the agreed scope, messages and any evidence with the job.
Cancellation rights depend on the worker’s status and the circumstances. Trader and private-provider notices are shown at checkout. Where a statutory cancellation right applies, a clear cancellation notice to the worker does not require Nimtask’s permission. A payment or refund issue can be reviewed separately. Read the cancellation notices and optional cancellation form.
What worker checks mean
Workers provide their legal contracting name and contact information, describe their skills, and declare whether they offer the service as a business or as a private individual doing occasional jobs. Provider information is recorded with their quote, and the applicable identity and status details are shown before payment.
Stripe handles payout onboarding and any identity information it requires for the worker’s payment account. Payout readiness is not proof of trade skills, insurance, qualifications or a background check. Nimtask does not promise that every worker’s credentials have been independently verified.
Check qualifications, registrations and insurance that matter for your particular job. Read the worker’s profile and any reviews from completed Nimtask jobs. A new worker may not have reviews yet; ask for the details you need before hiring.
Finding work
Browse jobs by postcode or remote work without signing in. When you’re ready to send a quote, sign in or create an account and complete the required worker setup. Browsing and quoting are free; Nimtask’s service fee is paid by the customer.
Enter a full postcode to search within 5, 10 or 20 miles. Public distances use approximate locations to protect customers’ privacy. A postcode district searches that district only. Remote jobs can be found across England, Scotland and Wales.
If there are no matches, try a wider distance, another category or remote work. You can also choose matching job email alerts in your worker settings. Alerts are optional and can be turned off in settings or through the unsubscribe link in an alert.
